Dear Senator, or Dear Assemblyman,

Please investigate the death of Jamarr Cruz on March 31, 2009, the events leading to his death, and the cover ups after his death. The attempt to remove the Federal Monitor oversight from DCPP (DYFS) is ill advised and potentially tragic. In fact, the Federal purview is and has been flawed and mid- and upper level DCPP management has engaged in misfeasance, malfeasance, and illegal actions. This is in their effort to cover up Jamarr’s death and protect the public reputation of DCPP. The one billion dollars already spent to improve DCPP services is a likely contributor to the corruption, lest our citizens and your constituents become outraged at the events in question. Self-serving personal and power interests are at work, as well.

Please investigate with an appropriate method of checks and balances to insure that the powers that be do not continue to obfuscate justice and risk the well-being of the children in our state.

Sincerely yours,

Your name

Your address (important to prove your are their constituent)

If you feel moved and outraged, please click on petition below, and send your petition to: Joyce.thomas.@acf.hhs.gov

We also urge you to contact your state legislators. We understand that you may not have their contact information ready at hand. So, go the following website: www.njleg.state.nj.us. Then, go to the left of your screen and look under the heading Members. The first selection under it is Find your legislator. Click on that and you can find your legislators via several options now listed to the right of your screen. You can select Municipality or Electronic Correspondence, for regular mail and electronic mail, respectively. This only takes a minute.

Below is a sample letter you might use, but feel free to add your own thoughts.
